About the Role

Do you like the idea of a highly-available, well-designed architecture? Are you interested in solving complex large scale problems? We’re looking for a Backend Engineer with deep experience developing complex, highly scalable solution with a customer first attitude. You would play a major role in designing and implementing backend services that interact with many different types of devices and an increasingly large number of users. The ideal candidate is well-versed in more than one language and framework, and has experience building backend services composed of lots of moving parts that interface via APIs and SDKs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • You have built an iOS and/or Android app before, and can talk to the issues you had to resolve to make it work seamlessly on a variety of devices
  • Have an excellent understanding of Object-oriented Design
  • You want to take ownership of what you work on. You’re ready to explain it to your colleagues and support it in production

Bonus points if you:

  • Have worked in detail using the Camera on iOS and/or Android devices
  • Have experience working with backend teams on defining API Specifications
  • Feel comfortable discussion how you would ideally configure a CI environment for an Android and/or iOS mobile application
  • Have worked extensively with Selenium testing on a mobile platform
  • Have a history working with MySQL, Postgre and other RDBMS systems
  • Are familiar with AWS tools and services including EC2, RDS, Redshift, S3 and auto-scaling
  • Have knowledg or developed cross-platform mobile Apps
